Suma Balaram is a designer who enjoys exploring with different mediums of craft and illustration. Her professional expertise focuses in branding, art direction, end-to-end experience design and design research. She gets her kicks out of solving complex design problems and building a strong, long-lasting bond between brands and people. Her goal is to create innovative and sustainable design solutions for the brands she works with by forming a connection with audiences in a more meaningful way.
After graduating from LASALLE College of the Arts in Singapore with a Bachelor of Arts in Design Communication, Suma moved back to India where she was a part of a wide range of projects. From UI/UX to packaging and print design, her interest in visual communication grew immensely while she worked in Mumbai. Curious to learn more about the integration between business and design, Suma moved to New York City in 2015 to pursue her Masters in Strategic Design and Management from Parsons School of Design.
Largely focussing her work on creating awareness around social and environmental problems, she has worked closely with non profits and other organizations in India, Mexico, Africa and the United States. Her passion for the ocean and wildlife have a strong influence on her work.
